Utah Jazz general manager Kevin O’Connor announced on 4/9/12 that the team is expected to sign Blake Ahearn of the NBA Development League’s Reno Bighorns to a 10-day contract on 4/10/12. A five-year NBA D-League veteran, Ahearn returns to the NBA having played with the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs during the 2007-08 and 2008-09 seasons, respectively.

Ahearn established the NBA DLeague’s all-time record for consecutive made free throws when he connected on 110 in a row between December 2011 and January 2012. The record tops the NBA mark of 97 set by Micheal Williams in 1993.

Appeared in 41 games for the Dakota Wizards of the NBDL... averaged 19.0 points, 3.5 assists and 2.5 rebounds in 29.5 minutes per game … shot .486 (239-492) from the field, .439 (108-246) from three-point land and .960 (192-200) from the line … named the 2008 D-League Rookie of the Year and earned a spot on the All D-League Second Team.
