TRANSACTIONS:

Selected by Miami with the 27th overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft. Traded by Miami to Philadelphia in exchange for the draft rights to Justin Hamilton (45th overall pick) and a protected future first round pick on 6/28/12.


2012-13 NOTES/CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:

  • In 47 games, averaged 3.7 points and 3.1 rebounds in 11.5 minutes per game while shooting 58.2% from the floor and 64.3% from the line.
  • Recorded 24 DNP-CD's.
  • Over his final 14 games played, shot 66.7% from the floor. Shot 12-of-12 from the floor over a four-game span from 2/28-3/5. Had the second-highest FG% (.582) of any rookie with more than 25 games played.

    Was an early entry candidate for the 2012 NBA Draft following his junior season at Mississippi State. Named First Team All-SEC after averaging 16.4 points, 10.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists while shooting 54.9% from the floor, 44.4% from 3-point range and 78.0% from the line. Led the conference in rebounding and ranked tied for 10th in the nation. Recorded 18 double-doubles in 30 games played. Shot 78.0% from the line as a junior after shooting 58.7% his first two seasons. Averaged 3.7 offensive rebounds as a junior, grabbing 6+ seven times, including a career-high 11 vs. Northwestern State. Spent his first two seasons at Texas-El Paso before transferring to the Bulldogs and sat out the entire 2010-11 season due to NCAA transfer regulations.


    OFF THE COURT:

    Born in Queens but went to high school in Memphis. Son of Rebecca Chandler. Majored in Philosophy. Shot over 70.0% from the floor during his final two seasons of high school. Was a member of the USA U19 team which won gold at the FIBA World Championship in New Zealand during the summer of 2009.
