Early entry candidate for the 2001 NBA Draft as a 20-year-old. Applied for early entry each of the past two seasons, but withdrew his name from consideration prior to the draft each time. Received sporadic playing time for Panathinaikos, one of the top teams in Europe. Performed before NBA scouts at the 2000 NBA Pre-Draft Camp.

Through 22 games in the Greek League in 2000-01, averaged 7.9 points and 4.6 rebounds in 20.8 minutes. In Suproleague play, increased scoring to 10.5 ppg. In Suproleague play, shot 45.8% from three-point range.

In just over 18 minutes per game in 1999-2000, averaged 6.8 points and 3.3 rebounds. Averaged 4.7 points in limited playing time for Panathinaikos in 1998-99. Played on the Greek Junior National Team.

Played in Nike Hoop Summit game for the second straight year on March 28, 1999. Scored 15 points, second on team, in International Select Team's 107-95 loss to USA Junior National Team. In that game, hit 5-of-10 from the field, including two-of-three from three-point range, and hit three-of-four free throws. Also added two assists, two rebounds and one blocked shot.
