Became the first Canadian-born player to ever be selected No. 1 overall in the NBA Draft (2013)... Credits his mother, Edith, as his biggest influence...competed at the junior national level for Team Canada, averaging 13.2 points and 6.2 rebounds at the 2012 FIBA U-17 World Championship and 13.8 points and 7.6 rebounds at the 2009 U-16 competition, helping Canada place third in both tournaments...played on the Under-16 and Under-17 Canadian National teams at the FIBA World Championships and led Canada to two consecutive bronze medals.
