They have 79 games left to turn things around, but so far the Pistons are right where they finished last year in 3-point shooting: 29th in the NBA. And, in fact, the raw numbers are even worse. The 2014-15 Pistons are shooting .219 from the 3-point arc compared to .321 a season ago.
You'd think the 0-2 record the Pistons took into Saturday's home opener would be a little easier for Stan Van Gundy to put into perspective given the fact that 11 years ago--as a rookie NBA head coach--his Miami Heat opened the season 0-7.
You'd be wrong, mostly.
"Every loss, I'm miserable," he said about 90 minutes before tipoff Saturday night. "Perspective is not a great word to use in conjunction with me."
So it's nice to have an owner willing to lend that perspective.
