Spirit Wig Night on March 19th Gives Pistons Potential to Break Guinness World Record
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — On Friday, March 19th when the Detroit Pistons host the Denver Nuggets, fans can be part of the Pistons attempt to break the Guinness Book of World Records record for “Most People Wearing Wigs – Single Venue.”
The Pistons will give away red, white and blue Spirit Wigs to the first 5,000 kids 14 and under and all fans are encouraged to wear their Ben Wallace afro wigs for the evening. Game time for the Pistons vs. Nuggets match-up is 8:00 PM with doors opening at 6:00 PM.
The current record in the Guinness Book stands at 5,574 people, set on September 7, 2003 by fans at the Newcastle Knights vs. North Queensland Cowboys rugby match in New South Wales, Australia. With an anticipated sell-out crowd of 22,076, the Pistons expect to blow the current record out of the water.
