Dixon, a former first-round draft choice by Washington in 2002, was acquired by the Raptors from Portland in exchange for guard Fred Jones on 2/22/07. In 36 games with Toronto this season, he averaged 4.3 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 11.8 minutes per game. He averaged 11.1 points and 26.3 minutes in 26 games with the Raptors a season ago. In six seasons with Washington, Portland and Toronto, Dixon has compiled career averages of 9.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 369 NBA games (71 starts). As a collegiate player at Maryland, he was named 2002 Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year and first-team All-America by The Associated Press after helping the Terrapins to the 2002 NCAA Championship. He was also named Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA Final Four tournament.
Brezec was acquired by the Pistons in a trade with Charlotte on December 14 along with Walter Herrmann in exchange for Nazr Mohammed. In 17 games with the Pistons this season, he averaged 1.6 points and 1.1 rebounds in 5.8 minutes per game. He was drafted 27th overall by Indiana in the 2000 NBA Draft and was acquired by Charlotte as an expansion selection on June 22, 2004. In 291 career games, he has averaged 8.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 0.4 blocks in 20.2 minutes per game. He averaged 10.6 points and 5.5 rebounds in his first three seasons with Charlotte while shooting 50.4% from the field (918-1,821 FG). Brezec finished fourth in the NBA’s Most Improved Player Award voting in 2004-05, ranking 14th in the NBA in field goal percentage that season. At the 2006 FIBA World Championships, he played on the Slovenian National Team that included NBA players Beno Udrih, Bostjan Nachbar and Rasho Nesterovic.
