Pistons forward gets third straight All-Defensive recognition
Hail, Prince
by Keith Langlois

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – The Pistons didn’t dominate the NBA’s All-Defensive team this year as they have in the past, but Tayshaun Prince was voted to the second team and three other Pistons received votes in balloting released by the league Monday.

That makes three straight second-team selections for Prince, a fifth-year veteran. The two forwards ahead of him on the first team are San Antonio teammates Tim Duncan and Bruce Bowen. The first team is filled out by guards Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers and Raja Bell of Phoenix plus center Marcus Camby, who last week won Defensive Player of the Year honors.

Prince’s running mate at forward on the second team is Minnesota’s Kevin Garnett. Other second-team members are ex-Piston Ben Wallace of Chicago and guards Jason Kidd of New Jersey and Kirk Hinrich of Chicago.

Other Pistons receiving votes were Chauncey Billups, who finished first among all other Eastern Conference players; Rasheed Wallace, who picked up one first-team vote; and Rip Hamilton, who also received one first-place vote.
