Postgame Quotes - November 28, 2012

(On run after tied first quarter): "I think the only thing we weren't doing well in the first half was rebounding the ball. Once we were able to kind of secure that up and keep bodies on bodies, then we were able to limit them to one shot and get out in transition. Obviously, a lot of good stuff tonight. Defensively, holding a team to a low (shooting) percentage, good ball movement with 28 assists, and a bunch of guys in the mix. I thought our second unit did a good job, even though they got offensive rebounds. I thought there was more of a defensive presence tonight; a lot of good play from a lot of good guys. You don't have a lot of games like this, but there are obviously a lot of bright spots that we just have to keep building on."

(On team's positive attitude during and after the game): "When you have games like this, it's always easy to have that. The key is during diversity. With this game, several good things, I'm not going to diminish it, yet at the same time it's one game one way or the other and we just have to keep building. We've started to put together better play at home, now we have to take the show on the road against two of the better teams; one that's arguably the best team in the Western conference and a Dallas team that's very good."

(On finding the right combination and balance among the units): "I think we are playing well right now, but that's easy to say coming in with wins. Both units played well, so we will continue to work with that rotation."

(On Rodney Stuckey's early season struggle): "Rodney has always been very important to the team and he will continue to play a big part. We are always a better team when he is attacking and playing aggressive like he did tonight."

(On the second unit): “It’s not the rotation; it’s us as a team. We work hard every day and we’re starting to get that we’re the energy group. We come out there and then get our starting line up right back in.”

(On feeling more comfortable): “Definitely, every day I’m out here working with my teammates and my coaching staff and guys around me. I’m getting a lot more comfortable and know where I need to be.”

(On playing with Charlie Villanueva): “It makes it a lot harder for the defense because he can pick-and-pop or he can post up so you really don’t know what he’s trying to do.”

(On loss): "I wish it was an easier way to say this but we sucked in every part of the game. There was nothing that we did that you could say was even NCAA quality. This is the first game I can say that I did not think we competed hard and did not try to match their energy level."

(On consistency in future games): "We have to find a way to gain consistency in what we are doing. We cannot play one night where we play well and then come back the next night and not compete."

(On Pistons): "I do not want to take anything away from those guys but they played great. They did a great job of sharing the ball. They did a good job of executing their offense but at the end of the day we cannot do what we did to ourselves."

(On loss): "We just lost control and we did not play well. We were frustrated and we loss control and our minds and a couple technical's. We could not make a basket or the right play. Just overall it was a terrible game for us."

(On lack of offense): "The first two quarters we got some open looks but we did not hit the shots, especially from three points. The ball did not go around. Every time we made one or two passes and then we shot the ball; we cannot play like that."
