Postgame Quotes - February 10, 2014

(On the game): “I told the guys today, just when we were in the locker room, I’m so proud of them. I only thought there was about a three-minute period to where they showed more energy, more determination than us. You show determination, hustle for 45 of the 48 minutes, you’re going to be pretty successful most nights. So I told the guys I thought that was the big key.”

(On the message coming into the game): “I told them it was going to be an emotional day. I told them that I thought we can play collectively for longer periods of time, better than we have. We had to dig deep and play together. I thought our guys showed great resolve tonight.”

(On the rest of the season): “The second half of the season is about to start, especially after the all-star break. Right now we have a chance to really make our push to get back into playoff talks so right now every game matters.”

(On offense): “We had about seven or eight guys who had double figures in scoring and when that’s clicking we’re kind of hard to stop.”

(On winning): “Certain events happened that are beyond our control, but we were able to come out and focus on playing basketball. We came out with a big win against a great team.”

(On Pistons’ play): “We wanted to be able to fly around, be active, but it also coincided with us sharing the basketball and playing together. Whenever we’re able to do that, that’s when we pick it up on the defensive end.”

(On facing a team with a new head coach): "That happens, but it had nothing to do with it. They played with physicality and emotion. I thought our defense was the worse we played all year; in the first half. Mentally and physically, I thought we did not bring it and they brought it for a variety of reasons and kicked our (butt)."

(On Danny Green): "He sprained his knuckle on his shooting hand, but that had nothing to do with us losing the game. They went out and took the game they deserved it."

(On team defense): "The biggest thing in our (defensive) lapses was miscommunication. We just weren't communicating at all at times. The energy wasn't there, the passion wasn't there; we were kind of dry and dead and we needed that spark, and we didn't get that tonight.

(On Pistons play): "They played hard. They wanted to play with some passion and they got loose balls. They did what they did. They made a good amount of shots tonight and we had a lot of lapses."

(On injury): "It's nothing serious. It was just a little sprain. I'll be able to play on Wednesday."
