Postgame Quotes - April 5, 2014

(On the second unit): “I think they got us back in with their energy. They moved the basketball; they fed off each other. We went through a nice stretch there where we didn’t give up any offensive rebounds then they moved the ball. You could see just general excitement when each guy scored for the other guy. For Jonas (Jerebko) to make a couple of those buckets, for (Rodney) Stuckey to be in attack mode, for Peyton Siva down the stretch. Guys came in and did a nice job. That’s what their job is to do and that’s what they prepare for every day.”

(On Peyton Siva): “I thought Peyton (Siva) was solid. If you don’t go home with a better appreciation for Peyton Siva, you really didn’t watch the game. He guarded the ball, he hustled, got on the floor for loose balls; played with confidence. He was very, very good. You expect good things from Peyton because he prepares so hard. If he’s not the first guy in the gym, I guarantee he’s the last to leave. He’s been an incredible worker for us all year.”

(On Celtics’ play): “I feel like they were shooting a lot of open threes and they were making them. We were just not giving a full effort; I feel like we were just letting them shoot open threes. You can’t do that with a team like that.”

(On coming from behind to win): “We were getting stops when we needed to, we were sharing the ball and making open shots and just playing good basketball.”

(On confidence and team support): “I feel a lot more confident, just working out with Chauncey (Billups) has really helped me out a lot. Just being confident with the ball; making the right decisions. Will Bynum helped me out a lot today telling me which way to come off the screen, what reads I should make. As time goes on just continue to get better and better.”

(On beating the Celtics and Pistons’ energy): “I just try and go out there and bring energy to the guys. Chauncey told me it looks like the guys are just going through the motions. So I just try to go out there and make the hustle plays, dive on the ground, and be that type of guy that somebody can lean on for energy and bring that energy.”

(On momentum changing in third quarter): "We made a bus load of shots in a row. I thought we let off the gas defensively a couple of times and now all of a sudden instead of a 19 point game it is a 13 or 12-point game. Your momentum is swinging as the shots get tougher and theirs get freer. We have seen that time and again in this league that those leads go quick."

(On ball movement early in the game): "They ratcheted up their pressure on the ball. It changed how they were guarding the pick and roll by changing personnel. (Jonas) Jerebko was much more active at the four and it made a huge difference how they were guarding us. We got them on a couple of dives to the rim because he was edging out but we did not take advantage of it enough."

(On team effort): “We had nine guys out there and they were playing. They all played pretty hard and I thought (Chris) Babb came up with every loose ball. I wish he would have knocked down a couple of those shots as does he. He is a great shooter. We saw that in the pre-season. He shot it well.”

(On game): "I just feel that we didn't get stops when we needed them. They (Pistons) went on a couple of runs and we answered a couple of them, but down the stretch we really couldn't get stops when we needed them. Credit to them; on our part we gave the effort, but at the end you have to get stops and that's most important."

(On first career double-double): "It ended in a loss, so it doesn't feel too well. The most important thing is getting a win. In my position when I'm here, I'm trying to win every single time. That's my mindset every time out there."
