PNC Bank Extends Presenting Sponsorship For Detroit Pistons 2011-12 Season

“We are delighted to have PNC Bank extend its presenting sponsorship with the Detroit Pistons,” said Pistons President & CEO Alan Ostfield. “PNC Bank has been a great partner of the team and our entire organization and our relationship grown throughout the years.”
“Through the first three seasons we have developed a community-driven partnership with PNC Bank and we have proven that our relationship will go much farther than a simple promotional platform,” said Ostfield.
In addition to PNC Bank’s participation in the Pistons Read to Achieve program and other team Community Relations efforts, the Pistons have supported PNC Bank’s Grow Up Great program, its existing signature initiative with Detroit Public Schools, and utilized the combined assets of both to take the program to a higher level including the giveaway of special Grow Up Great booklets to the first 5,000 fans attending our annual Kids’ Day game.
“I have attended PNC Bank’s Grow Up Great school assemblies and am extremely impressed. The programs are both entertaining and educational with messaging by PNC Bank and entertainment by our mascot Hooper and Coach Aaron, our Year-Round Hoops Director,” continued Ostfield. “Thousands of kids connected with the entertaining program and the important messaging providing benefits to the kids and both organizations.”
Fans have benefited from the relationship in other ways as well. PNC Bank provides Pistons tickets to area youth who otherwise might not have an opportunity to attend a game. On February 2, 2011, when the area was hit with a major snowstorm, PNC Bank offered free tickets to the Pistons game that evening to honor the team’s hearty fans who wished to brave the elements and attend the game. PNC Bank will continue to offer special promotions and discounts throughout the season for designed games and provide guest with additional entertainment and opportunities with giveaways and contests during games.
As presenting sponsor, PNC Bank is included in a number of marketing elements including drops/logos on all television, radio and print ads; the PNC Bank logo on Pistons tickets and pocket schedules; in-arena advertising for PNC Bank; prominent placement of its logo on the Pistons.com web site; the PNC Bank logo incorporated into Pistons staff uniforms and point-of-sale signage at all Locker Room stores.
As the Pistons presenting sponsor, PNC Bank customers will benefit from special offers on their PNC Pistons Affinity Check Cards and on the bank’s industry leading rewards program – points from PNC Bank. Additionally, PNC Bank customers will receive 20 percent discounts on merchandise at official Pistons Locker Room stores.
The financial terms of the agreement were undisclosed.
