Palace of Auburn Hills Hosts
12th Annual Red Cross Blood Drive

Palace Sports & Entertainment and the American Red Cross Southeastern Michigan Blood Services Region are asking the community to “Give Blood to Honor Your Hero” at the annual Palace Blood Drive, Monday, Sept. 16, 2013 from 7 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. at the Palace of Auburn Hills’ North Pavilion, 6 Championship Drive in Auburn Hills.

This annual community drive was organized in 2002 to commemorate the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks and give residents an opportunity to help save lives by building the blood supply in Southeastern Michigan.

Everyone who comes to donate blood at this year’s Palace Blood Drive will be recognized as a Pistons Game Changer. All Game Changers will receive special thank you gifts including: a pair of tickets to the October 10, 2013, preseason game between the Detroit Pistons and the world champion Miami Heat along with other memorabilia while supplies last; and a Game Changers Tool Kit with four Pistons tickets, a parking pass, and a food voucher. Everyone who comes to donate will also be entered into a drawing for a trip on the Detroit Pistons private plane and a round of golf at Treetops for two people (during the offseason).

“We are pleased to partner again with the American Red Cross in their efforts to provide the gift of life,” said Dennis Mannion, Palace Sports & Entertainment CEO and president. “Hosting this blood drive is our small contribution to the important work of the Red Cross and its staff. It also allows us to recognize the volunteers and donors who are making an impact here in the state of Michigan. I would hope that this example of service inspires others to consider what they can do to make a difference in their communities."

“The longstanding partnership between Palace Sports & Entertainment and the Red Cross is very important for our community,” said Southeastern Michigan Region Red Cross Blood Services CEO Diane E. Ward. “This annual drive provides an excellent opportunity for donors to help build an adequate community blood supply so patients all over southeastern Michigan can receive the life-sustaining help they need.”

Advance appointments are encouraged. Those with appointments will be given first priority; “wait times” can be quite lengthy. To make your appointment for the Palace Blood Drive call 1-800-RED CROSS or visit and use sponsor code palace.
