October 9 Slated for Individual Game Ticket On-Sale and Open Practice for the Public

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. --- The Detroit Pistons announced that tickets for individual games for the 2004-05 regular season are on sale now at the Palace Box Office (248-377-0100), all TicketMaster outlets and online by clicking here.

Tickets are available at all outlets at the $38, $32 and $22 price levels. Seats at the $10 price level will be made available on Saturday but ONLY to those purchasing at the Palace Box Office. For those purchasing online or at TicketMaster outlets, the $10 price level tickets will be available starting Monday, October 11 at 8:00 AM.

Players will be working at the Palace Box Office windows for the first hour of the On-Sale and fans that purchase their individual tickets AT THE PALACE will receive a commemorative “Defenders” t-shirt.

Following the excitement of the On-Sale, the Pistons will host their Fourth Annual Open Practice. This year, the Practice will be held for the first time at The Palace. Admission is free and the Practice begins promptly at 7:00 PM.

Throughout the day, fans will have an opportunity to get their pictures with the four championship trophies (’89, ’90, ’04 NBA Championship and ’03 WNBA Championship) that are housed at The Palace. The outdoor ShockFest courts will be set up and fans will be able to shoot free throws against several radio personalities who will be broadcasting live beginning at 4:00 PM.

At 5:00 PM, the organization will begin the transition into the festivities for the Open Practice. To begin the evening, fans will hear from a Pistons front office official who will give a “state of the organization” address. Starting at 5:30 PM, kids 14 and under will be able to participate in a Pistons basketball clinic on the floor. All fans will be able to tour The Palace and will hear from several departments including the box office, parking and the front office to get a better feel for the inner workings of one of the busiest arenas in the country.

At 6:30 PM, the Automotion Dance Team will unveil preview photos from their 2004 Swimsuit Calendar. The calendar will be a giveaway item after the November 17 game and will be sold in all Palace Locker Room stores throughout the year. Members of the dance team will be on hand at the Cingular Club to sign autographs and take pictures with fans.

Practice starts at 7:00 PM with an introduction from Head Coach Larry Brown and one of the NBA Champions, who will give a brief overview of what fans can expect during their evening and for the upcoming 2004-05 season. Ben Wallace, Rip Hamilton, Chauncey Billups, Rasheed Wallace and Tayshaun Prince will all be in training camp and will attend the Open Practice. October 9 will also be the first opportunity for fans to get a look at new Pistons Derrick Coleman and Antonio McDyess as well as last year’s draft pick from Argentina, Carlos Delfino.

Training camp begins Tuesday, October 5. The first pre-season game of the year is Wednesday, October 13 versus the Boston Celtics at The Palace. Opening night is scheduled for Tuesday, November 2 and will feature an 8:00 PM match-up against the Houston Rockets. The Pistons will raise their 2003-04 NBA Championship banner and players will receive their championship rings in a pre-game ceremony.
