Kids participate in game day jobs with Palace employees
Fifth Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Kids Day at the Palace
by Stephanie Mueller

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – On Wednesday, February 8, 2006 the Detroit Pistons will host their Sixth Annual Sports & Entertainment Career Fair at The Palace of Auburn Hills. The Career Fair will run from 1:00-5:00 p.m. and will be the precursor to the Pistons vs. Los Angeles Clippers match-up at 7:30 PM.

“This Career Fair has grown to be the largest in the NBA,” said Palace Sports & Entertainment Vice President of Human Resources Tom Bennett. “Obviously, the team’s success has given us a higher profile, but we also believe our organization’s ranking in ESPN the Magazine’s Ultimate Standings as well as our recent recognition as one of Michigan’s 101 Best & Brightest Companies will help to draw people to our event. The Career Fair is an excellent opportunity to network and get in front of some of the industry’s leading companies.”

Last year, more than 1,100 applicants put their resumes in front of more than 30 sports and entertainment organizations. In 2006, representatives from the Detroit Tigers, DP Fox Sports, Indiana Pacers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Milwaukee Bucks and many others will take part in the Fair. Top applicants, including undergraduate and graduate students, law students and recent grads from schools throughout the Midwest are encouraged to participate.

The registration fee for applicants is $30, which includes full access to the Career Fair and a ticket to the Pistons vs. Clippers game. The registration fee does not include parking costs. Additional tickets to the game can be ordered for friends and family for a special Career Fair price of $30.
