AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – While the Pistons hope to be a hungrier team under first-year coach Michael Curry, they’re offering their loyal fans a way to leave The Palace with their hunger completely satisfied.

As one of four attractive partial season-ticket packages, the All You Can Eat Plan will allow fans to stuff themselves with as many hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, bottled waters and cups of soda pop as they can handle.

The basketball should leave them satisfied, too. Among the teams in the 11-game package – 10 regular-season games plus a preseason game for free – are six Eastern Conference playoff teams from the 2008 postseason. Plans start as low as $250 per seat for the complete package.

“We tried to come up with something new and different that also acknowledged the tough economic times we’re all experiencing,” said Palace executive vice president John Ciszewski. “The All You Can Eat Plan gives fans and families a price break while still feeling like they can indulge themselves a little bit for a fun night out and soak up the game-night atmosphere at The Palace, which consistently has been ranked among the best arena experiences anywhere in the world.”

The All You Can Eat Plan features regular-season dates with Philadelphia, Washington, Toronto, Atlanta and Orlando, all of which appeared in the 2008 playoffs from the Eastern Conference. The Philadelphia (Dec. 5) and Orlando (March 9) games will be rematch dates for the Pistons, who beat the 76ers in six games and the Magic in five to advance to the Eastern Conference finals for the sixth straight season.

The package opens with a preseason game Oct. 22 against another Eastern playoff team, Cleveland, led by All-NBA first-team choice LeBron James.

“And he’s one of five Team USA Olympians included in the All You Can Eat Plan,” Ciszewski said. “In addition to LeBron, you’ve got Chris Bosh, Dwight Howard, Michael Redd and Carmelo Anthony – that’s almost half of the Olympic team. Throw in our own Tayshaun Prince, and that is half the Olympic team. It’s a terrific value even without the hot dogs, nachos and popcorn.”

The Knicks, under former Phoenix run-and-gun coach Mike D’Antoni, tip off the regular season portion of the All You Can Eat Plan with a Nov. 26 game – the always-popular Thanksgiving eve game.

Washington with its three potential All-Stars – Gilbert Arenas, Antawn Jamison and Caron Butler – visits on Dec. 17. Charlotte, under former Pistons coach Larry Brown and featuring former Michigan State star Jason Richardson, comes to The Palace on Jan. 13. Toronto, which adds a potentially dominant big man in Jermaine O’Neal to Bosh in its frontcourt, is next up on Jan. 21.

Atlanta, fresh off its first playoff appearance in nine seasons and boosted by forcing a seventh game against eventual NBA champion Boston in the first round, drops in on Feb. 11, followed by Milwaukee – now under the direction of former Pistons vice president John Hammond – on Feb. 17.

Denver, with Anthony and Allen Iverson, comes to The Palace on March 3 and Orlando, led by Howard, is scheduled for March 9.

The All You Can Eat Plan wraps up with what could be a critical late-season game on April 13 against division rival Chicago, which features the No. 1 pick in the 2008 draft, point guard Derrick Rose.
