As a small token of appreciation for their service to the United States, the Detroit Pistons are giving 25 pairs of tickets for each and every home game of the 2008 playoffs to members of the military and their families, so that they may share in the team’s playoff run.

“We don’t ever want to forget all that these courageous men and women do for our country by serving in the armed forces,” said Pistons CEO Tom Wilson. “Giving them an evening out as our guests, and sharing the Pistons playoff experience is just a small way for us to say ‘thank you.’”

The 25 pairs of tickets will be sent directly to Selfridge Air National Guard in Harrison Township and distributed amongst the soldiers on base.

The Detroit Pistons, who hold the No. 2 spot in the Eastern Conference, open the 2008 NBA Playoffs on Sunday, April 20 and will host the Philadelphia 76ers (No. 7 spot). Game time is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Game Two will be Wednesday, April 23 at 7:30 p.m.
