Detroit Pistons Appreciate the Fans Who Appreciate Them

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. --- The Detroit Pistons will thank the hardest working fans in the NBA with Fan Appreciation Night on Tuesday, April 15 at The Palace of Auburn Hills during the last regular season home game of 2007-08. The Pistons tip-off against the Minnesota Timberwolves at 7:30 p.m. The ultimate appreciation will come at a post-game ceremony where players will actually give their game-worn jerseys to 15 lucky fans.

Fans will enter to win the jerseys throughout the April 15 game and will be selected via a random drawing. The 15 fans whose names are drawn will receive an envelope with a player’s name inside. This name will indicate which game-worn jersey the fan takes home.

“This entire year has been about our 50 seasons in Detroit and the fans that have supported us,” said Tom Wilson, CEO of the Detroit Pistons. “From the Pistons Cares Telethon to our All-Time Team, the fans have really come through. Now it’s our turn.”

A total of 50 prizes will be given away throughout the night in celebration of the Pistons 50 seasons in Detroit. Fans have a chance to win a T-Mobile Sidekick, or a round of golf with cart at Tanglewood Golf Course. Also, gift certificates to Domino’s, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse, T.G.I. Friday’s, Prime Outlets and Belle Tire will be given away to lucky fans. Northwest Airlines World Vacations is giving fans a chance to win two roundtrip certificates to Hawaii or Las Vegas, and Southwest Air is awarding two round trip tickets for anywhere in the continental United States.

Fans wanting to test their luck can take a spin on the prize wheel and maybe get a chance to enter the Pistons prize chamber. The current Miss Michigan, Gina Valo, will also be in attendance to sign autographs in the Comcast Pavilion.

One lucky fan will have an extra special “thank you.” At halftime the season long “Giving Away the House” contest from Hunter Pasteur, Channel 955 and the Detroit Pistons will conclude and a brand new $250,000 home will be awarded to one fortunate fan with the lucky key. Throughout the 2007-08 season, 50 fans won keys during Detroit Pistons home games and by listening to Mojo in the Morning on Channel 955. The fan with the winning key that opens the door will choose a brand new home in either Ypsilanti (BelleMeade) or Clarkston (Cheshire Park).
