On March 2, 2006, the Detroit Pistons assigned rookie Alex Acker to the Fayetteville Patriots of the NBA Development League.
The 6-foot-5 guard was the 60th pick of the 2005 NBA Draft out of Pepperdine University.
He made his official NBA debut on 2/21 vs. Atlanta and scored the first points of his NBA career on 2/26 vs. Cleveland when he finished with two points.
Acker joined Amir Johnson, who was assigned to the Patriots on February 27, 2006.
Johnson, 6-9, 210, was drafted 56th in the 2005 NBA Draft by the Pistons out of Westchester High School (Los Angeles, CA). He played in one game this season scoring two points and recording one block at Minnesota on Jan. 24.
