Detroit Pistons To Hold "Pistons Academy" Youth Dance Camp

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – The Detroit Pistons announced today that the club will hold its second one-day “Pistons Academy” dance camp on Saturday April 27 at The Palace of Auburn Hills. Three-hour programs for girls and boys ages 5-7 and 8-12 cost $75 and include a Pistons Academy T-shirt, Pistons wristbands, an autograph card and special performance by The Detroit Pistons Dancers and two dance classes – hip-hop and jazz. A four-and-a-half hour program for ages 13-and-older is available for $95 and includes a Pistons Academy T-shirt, an autograph card and special performance by The Detroit Pistons Dancers and three dance classes – hip-hop, jazz and hip-hop/jazz combination. Following are times for each camp:

Ken Jimenez, entertainment manager for Palace Sports & Entertainment, who has developed numerous performers chosen to dance for top concert tours such as Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” Tour, Janet Jackson, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Chris Brown and Cirque Du Soliel will lead the camps along with The Detroit Pistons Dancers.

“We are excited to host our second Pistons Academy dance camp here at The Palace of Auburn Hills,” said Harlan Hendrickson, Vice President of Marketing for Palace Sports & Entertainment. “We received a great response for our first camp back in February and look forward to providing a fun experience for youngsters looking to advance their dancing skills and knowledge.”

Participants are urged to register online at www.pistons.com/academydance by Friday, April 26th. Walk-ups will be available on the day of the event, but will be charged an additional $10.
