Detroit Pistons and the Come Together Foundation Announce 3 Finalists for Game Changer of the Year

Start voting at noon today for the three finalists for the 2013 Game Changer of the Year. Fans can vote online at from Oct. 30 to Nov. 15 to choose a winner to receive the Game Changer of the Year award – a 2013 Chrysler 300C John Varvatos Limited Edition – at the Nov. 25 Pistons vs. Milwaukee Bucks home game at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

Learn more about the inspiring stories of the three finalists – Kenyetta Dotson, of Flint, Anthony Ianni, of East Lansing and Alex Zayid, of Commerce Township – at Dotson has worked to help prevent violence in Flint. Ianni advocates for autism awareness and anti-bullying campaigns. Zayid began a non-profit to raise cancer awareness.

The Game Changer of the Year award will be presented on a Hometown Hero Monday through the Pistons Come Together Community Relations platform and the Come Together Foundation, which utilizes the Pistons and Palace to bring Michigan together and celebrate those who make a positive impact through volunteerism in their own communities.

A Game Changer – an individual or group making a difference in their community through leadership, service and volunteerism – can be nominated any time at Selected Game Changers and their inspirational stories are recognized at Pistons home games.

“The Pistons and the Come Together Foundation are excited for the three Game Changer finalists, who have had a tangible impact on their communities,” said Dennis Mannion, CEO and president of Palace Sports & Entertainment. “Game Changers are often unsung heroes, who set an example for others to give back, and the Chrysler 300C is our gift to honor them.”
