Detroit Piston Greg Monroe and Belle Tire Promote March is Reading Month with a Visit to Riverside Academy in Dearborn on March 13

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – The Detroit Pistons Come Together Platform and Belle Tire are teaming up for March is Reading Month to promote education and literacy with a visit by Pistons Forward Greg Monroe to Riverside Academy in Dearborn at 1:30 p.m. today.

Monroe will talk to more than 200 Riverside Academy third-, fourth- and fifth-graders about the importance of education and teamwork. He’ll also read the “Seven Spools of Thread: A Kwanzaa Story” by Angela Shelf Medearis, the story of seven brothers faced with the seemingly impossible task of putting aside their differences and learning to get along.

“Greg is an incredible representative for the Pistons March is Reading Month and our organization is committed to promoting literacy and motivating students to read,” said Dennis Mannion, Palace Sports & Entertainment CEO/President. “He is a terrific role model and he’ll make a lasting, positive impression on the students of Riverside Academy.”

“We are so fortunate to have the opportunity to support March is Reading Month through our partnership with the Detroit Pistons,” said Sarah Haines, Belle Tire Marketing Director. “We hope that the students enjoy Greg’s visit and are inspired to read more often.”
