Manager of Camps & Clinics/ Training Camp Tour
A native of Clinton Township, Mich., Curtis graduated from Harper Woods Notre Dame High School and spent three years at Northern Michigan University, where he majored in business management. He intended to play basketball at Northern Michigan until an Achilles tendon injury his freshman season re-directed his sports career towards coaching.
Curtis credits his youth coaches, Kim Langlois and Doug Passon, Sr., for teaching him about the value of sportsmanship and teamwork, and his high school varsity coach, Mike Maltese, for encouraging his respect for the game. He has to thank his older brother Nate for always having somebody tough to play against.
Curtis grew up idolizing Isiah Thomas and the Bad Boys and even played 1-on-1 with Joe Dumars in 1994 when the Pistons legend opened the Joe Dumars Fieldhouse. But Curtis still says his mother, Linda, might be the biggest basketball fan in the house!
