Meet award-winning journalist and Pistons.com editor Keith Langlois, renowned sportscaster Eli Zaret, longtime Pistons broadcasters George Blaha and Mark Champion, and long-time Palace Sports & Entertainment employee David Wieme.
Award-winning journalist Keith Langlois, most recently lead sports columnist at The Oakland Press, joined Pistons.com as the web site editor on October 2, 2006. Langlois, who brings over 27 years of professional sports journalism experience to Palace Sports & Entertainment, serves as Pistons.com's official beat writer and covers the team on a daily basis.
Eli Zaret started his career in 1974 as the first FM sportscaster in Detroit. His gravelly voice and rock-and-roll style, first heard on WABX-FM, created a stir in the staid world of sports casting. He went on to host the first ever nationally syndicated FM sports cast and became the lead television sports anchor at WDIV-TV in Detroit and WABC-TV in New York. As part of the broadcast team for TV20 Detroit, Eli is able to provide in-depth analysis on Detroit Pistons games.
As director of strategic communications for the Detroit Pistons, Dave Wieme is in the perfect position to provide insight on the day-to-day operations around The Palace of Auburn Hills. The job is a hybrid of public relations, communications, promotions, marketing, advertising and brand management. His direct boss is Palace Sports & Entertainment CEO Tom Wilson, however, he works with most everyone at The Palace. His position allows him to touch many projects in the organization and be in contact with many people. He is also afforded a great deal of latitude and is able to be "behind-the-scenes" a lot.
As the voice of the Pistons for 32 years on both television and radio, Blaha is a walking encyclopedia of NBA basketball. He’ll share his thoughts on the history of the NBA, the state of today’s game and the fate of the Pistons.
