AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – Detroit Pistons President of Basketball Operations Joe Dumars announced today that the Detroit Pistons have assigned rookie Alex Acker to the Fayetteville Patriots of the NBA Development League (D-League).

The 6-foot-5 guard was the 60th pick of the 2005 NBA Draft out of Pepperdine University. He made his official NBA debut on 2/21 vs. Atlanta and scored the first points of his NBA career on 2/26 vs. Cleveland when he finished with two points.

Acker joins Amir Johnson, who was assigned to the Patriots on 2/27, as the first two Pistons designated to the D-League.
