On June 2, 2011, Tom Gores, new owner of Palace Sports and Entertainment, took to the microphone at The Palace of Auburn Hills, and promised to “utilize the Detroit Pistons to bring the community together, win and thrill fans”. From this statement, the Detroit Pistons have launched a program by which community champions will be celebrated and rewarded – Come Together.

Pistons forward Amir Johnson will be visiting Osborn High School on Wednesday, Sept. 26 from 8:00 – 9:00 a.m. for a Read to Achieve “Back to School” event to support Detroit Public Schools “Count Day.” Last year, of the 1,820 students enrolled, 1,365 showed.
Bid on autographed items from the Pistons and Shock. The unique items include a glossy Pistons basketball signed by forward Rasheed Wallace. All proceeds benefit the Pistons-Palace Foundation.
