2014-15 Player Recap: Cartier Martin

SEASON SUMMARY

Martin earned a free-agent contract offer from Stan Van Gundy on the first day of free agency last season, Van Gundy admiring how hard Martin had played against his Orlando teams earlier in his career and his proven 3-point shooting ability. But an early-season bout with plantar fasciitis and nagging injuries later, including an ankle sprain, kept Martin from ever gaining any traction in a disappointing season. At his best, he provides quality backup minutes at shooting guard and small forward.

MARTIN BY NUMBERS

23: The number of games Martin played after failing to crack the rotation despite the early-season absence of Jodie Meeks due to injury.

.182: The 3-point percentage shot by Martin after he came into the season with a career norm of .383 from the arc.
