Calendar to be Distributed Postgame on Wednesday, November 17
2004-05 Automotion Swimsuit Calendar Photo Shoot
On Saturday, September 11, 2004 the defending NBA Champion Detroit Pistons dance team, Automotion, traveled to Cancun, Mexico to shoot their 2004-2005 swimsuit calendar. The event marked the first of its kind, taking the entire team and a production staff out of the country.
“We were very blessed to shoot in Cancun this year,” said Rebecca Girard, dance team director for Automotion. “With the support of Funjet and many individuals here at The Palace we were fortunate enough to capture the beauty and uniqueness that Cancun and Riveria Maya, Mexico has to offer.
“The calendar will be the first of its kind here at The Palace and in Michigan. I am so proud of the staff and the dance team members for all their hard work and cannot wait to see the reaction from our fans.”
The event was a seven-day trip that was made possible by Funjet Vacations and included, a four-day shoot schedule in the Xcaret National Park, as well as a press conference with various local media. Despite the hurricane weather the team was able to finish their shoot on schedule.
The calendar is scheduled to be available post-game on Wednesday, November 17, when the Pistons host the Minnesota Timberwolves. Automotion will unveil the calendar before the Detroit Pistons Open Practice which is scheduled for Saturday, October 9.
