Pistons-Palace Foundation/Detroit Free Press Gift of Reading Scholarship Contest
Students in any grade between kindergarten and 12th grade that live in Michigan can enter the online contest, which ends Apr. 1, 2009. Eight grand-prize winners will be presented with a $2,500 scholarship at the Pistons home game on Apr. 10, 2009!
All you have to do is write an essay or short story about the importance of good sportsmanship. In other words, what does sportsmanship mean to you? Essays will be judged on originality, writing style, grammar, content, and overall message to determine the scholarship winners. But don't write too much - essays cannot be longer than 2,000 words. All entries must be received by Apr. 1, 2009. Don't be late!

How to Enter the Contest
There are two ways to enter the Pistons-Palace Foundation/Detroit Free Press Gift of Reading Scholarship Contest. All submissions, via mail and online, must include name, address, phone, e-mail address, age and grade.
1) If you are at least 13 years old and would like to submit your contest entry online, fill out the required fields in the form below.
2) If you're 12 or younger, you must apply for the scholarship by mail. Please send your essay or short story, along with parents contact information (name, address, day and night phone number) to:
