The players will make the caravan through the streets of Pontiac with Thanksgiving dinners consisting of turkey & gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce, green beans, macaroni and cheese, rolls, sweet potatoes and pie.
“Since I’ve joined the team, I’ve seen our strong commitment to assisting others in the community and I am pleased to be a part of this effort and help families in time of need,” said Brown. “We hope the baskets will help lift the families’ spirits during the holidays.”
In addition, Palace Sports & Entertainment (PS&E) teamed up with Orchards Children’s Services to make an extra 125 food baskets to be delivered to families in Pontiac. PS&E will sponsor the turkeys to be included in each basket.
“I’m glad we can bring some type of cheer to these families during some rough times, especially during the holidays,” said Maxiell. “There are a lot of people who need help during these tough economic times and I'm just happy to help where I can.”
