Seventh annual drive tips off Nov. 25 benefiting Orchards Childrens Services

Pistons and Allstate "Good Hands, Warm Hands" Mitten Drive

The 7th Annual Good Hands, Warm Hands Mitten Drive will run November 25th through December 31st and both the Pistons and Allstate are hoping to collect mittens and winter items for Orchard’s Children’s Services, the metro-Detroit foster care and adoption agency.

Items and cash donations will be accepted at The Palace of Auburn Hills at the West Atrium and Comcast Pavilion entrances. Fans that make a donation will receive a $2 Palace concession voucher and be entered to win a Pistons VIP Night - including tickets to a Pistons game, dinner in The Palace Grille and a Pistons prize pack. Fans who donate $5 or more to the Mitten Drive will receive free Allstate/Pistons gloves. Proceeds from the cash donations will go towards the purchase of additional winter gear for Orchards Children’s Services.

Allstate has also partnered with The LEAGUE, a school and web based system for service learning, in challenging schools throughout Southeastern Michigan to help keep Michigan families warm this winter. Over a dozen Michigan schools are competing to collect items at their schools through December 16. The top three schools that collect the most items receive grants from Allstate in the amounts of $2,500, $1,500 and $1,000 respectively. In addition, the top classroom in the winning school will receive tickets to the January 22nd Pistons game and be recognized for their accomplishment on the Pistons court.
