Rock Financial Presents Know Your Black History Rules and Regulations

How to Enter: Contest begins on Monday, January 2, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. and ends Friday, February 15, 2008 at 11:59 a.m. (“Promotional Period”). There are only two (2) ways to enter.

Entries: High Schools students can download the form at Pistons.com to enter the Know Your Black History Scholarship. Entries mechanically reproduced or made in any fashion of the contest are void. Students can send name(s), address, phone number and name of school to "Know Youth Michigan Black History Month Scholarship,” Detroit Pistons – Community Relations, The Palace of Auburn Hills, 5 Championship Dr., Auburn Hills, MI, 48326. One entry per person/email address/household.

Indemnification: Entries must be received no later than Friday, February 15, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. All entries become the property of the Detroit Pistons and will not be acknowledged or returned. Incomplete entries are void. By entering, all entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the judge's decisions. By entering, entrant agrees to follow the Official Rules and hold harmless and indemnify the Detroit Pistons, the National Basketball Association and its Member Teams, NBA Properties, Inc. and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, governors, employees and agents against any and all liability, damages or causes of action (however named or described), with respect to or arising out of either (i) entrant’s participation; or (ii) the receipt or use of the prizes awarded in the promotion. False or deceptive entries or acts will render the entrant ineligible.

Prize: One (1) winner will receive one (1) $1,000 scholarship for higher education and four (4) tickets to the February 22, 2008 Pistons home game. Person that is said to be the Know Your Michigan Black History Scholarship winner, will be honored at halftime for a select amount of time. During honoring, honoree will be at half court and have photographs taken. Prize Value is $1,250. Winner will be notified via telephone or e-mail. In the event the winner cannot be contacted or declines the prize, another winner will be randomly chosen.

One (1) winner will be selected after Friday, February 15, 2008 from all eligible entries received by Palace Sports & Entertainment whose decisions regarding all aspects of the contest shall be final and binding. Except where prohibited, in consideration for being awarded the prize, winner hereby agrees and consents, without further authorization, compensation or remuneration of any kind, to the use of winner’s name and likeness in any and all advertising, promotions and other publicity conducted by the Detroit Pistons, the National Basketball Association and its Member Teams, NBA Properties, Inc. and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, governors, employees and agents. In the event that the winner cannot be contacted or declines the prize, another winner will be randomly selected from eligible entries. The winning prize is non-transferable to any other person, including relatives or friends. Winner is solely responsible for all applicable federal, state and local taxes and any expenses associated with the prize, unless otherwise indicated. No substitution, cash equivalent or transfer of prize permitted except at the team's option for a prize of comparable or greater value.

Eligibility: The nominations are open only to high school students in the state of Michigan. All nominations must come from the student. Employees and immediate families (spouse, parents, siblings, and children) of the Detroit Pistons, the National Basketball Association and its Member Teams, NBA Properties, Inc., and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, governors, employees, and agents, are not eligible. Entrants agree to be bound by the Official Rules and the decisions of the judging organization regarding all aspects of the contest, whose decisions shall be final.

Odds: Winner will be chosen by an employee of The Palace and Rock Financial based upon the student’s submission. Chances are based on the number of submissions received.
