Tayshaun Prince and Dealers Host Caravan to Deliver and Unload Books

Detroit Area Chevy Dealers Donate 16,000 Books to Pistons Read to Achieve Program

The Detroit Area Chevy Dealers helped the Pistons collect more than 16,000 books throughout the month of February for the team's Read to Achieve Book Drive, a program aimed at promoting reading and literacy to children and families in Michigan.

On Tuesday, March 9, Chevrolet dealers met at the Palace of Auburn Hills with Colorado pick-up trucks loaded with books. Tayshaun Prince joined the dealers to unload the first load of books at the Palace and then rode along in the police-escorted caravan to Ralph Waldo Emerson Elementary to complete the book drop-off.

Since February 1, 43 Detroit Area Chevy Dealers accepted new or gently used books, appropriate for grades K-12, at participating dealership locations. Anyone donating a book at a Detroit Area Chevy Dealer received a buy one-get one free Pistons voucher. The Detroit Area Chevy Dealers donation is a record-high collection number for the Pistons Read to Achieve Book Drive.
