Black History Month Scholarship Contest: Moving Detroit Forward
In the spirit of Michigan Black History, what steps will you take to be impactful for the future?Pistons Legend Rick Mahorn is inviting all high school students (grades 9th through 12th) in Michigan to participate in the Pistons Black History Month “Moving Detroit Forward” online scholarship competition. One high school student could win a $2,500 scholarship for higher education, courtesy of Sprite, Humana, Family Dollar and the Detroit Pistons.
All contestants should create a unique essay that answers the question: “MOVING DETROIT FORWARD: In the spirit of Michigan Black History, what steps will you take to be impactful in the future?” Essays must be 2,500 words or less and submitted in the form below or via mail. The student with the winning entry will be recognized at the Pistons vs. Pacers game on February 23, 2013.
