Pistons Forward Jason Maxiell Hosts 8-Ball Matches for Detroit Youth Sports Initiatives
JMax Racks ’Em Up for Charity Tournament

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- The Detroit Pistons will host “The Jason Maxiell & Detroit Pistons Charity 8-Ball Challenge” to benefit Detroit Youth Sports Initiatives. The event will take place on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at Slapsticks Billiards & Spirits in Clinton Township (35692 Gratiot Ave.), and will run from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The single elimination 8-ball tournaments will take place. The admission fee for the tournament is $30 per participant. One first place winner will be awarded a $200 cash prize, with the second place winner receiving $100. Third and forth place contestants will each receive $50.

Contestants who make it to the second round will receive two tickets to a Detroit Pistons game. All participants will receive a gift bag of merchandise from participating sponsors.

Participating sponsors include The Detroit Pistons, Budweiser, Labarons Billiards, Slapsticks Billiards & Spirits, WCHB – AM 1200 radio.

There will be a $10 admission charge for all non-participating spectators. A second elimination tournament will also take place for invited guests, including Pistons players and celebrities.

A silent auction, featuring Pistons and WNBA Detroit Shock memorabilia, will also be part of the day. Pistons mascot Hooper and the Pistons dance team, Automotion will make appearances at the event.
