Pelicans-Pacers Postgame Quotes 1-16-17

Pelicans Head Coach Alvin Gentry:

On the game:
“We got two good looks at it, it just didn’t go in the basket. I thought we did a great job but we didn’t get off to a great start. I thought we hung in there, a couple of the bench guys came in big.”

On playing after Anthony Davis went out:
“Him going down obviously took some momentum away, but I think the guys regrouped and kept us hanging in there, and put us in a good position to win.”

On Paul George:
“They did a great job, you’ve got to give them credit. They’ve got one of the greatest players in the league in Paul George, and when they needed him the most he stepped up.”

On the Pacers:
“That’s the first time a team has shot more than 50% against us in a long time. But I still think we played well. This is a team that can make 120 points per game and we held them to 95.”

Pelicans Guard E'Twaun Moore:

On the game:
“We played well, well enough to win. I just wish we got the victory. Give Indiana credit, we did not get off to a great start; but it was good to come back and be in position to win, but this one slipped by us. We had two good shots at the end, they just didn’t fall.”

Pelicans Forward Solomon Hill:

On coming back to play at Indiana:
“It was definitely different for me tonight, not an ordinary game. This is a special building and I knew tonight would be emotional for me. It’s funny the little things you don’t think about, like I didn’t even know where the visiting locker room was. I had a lot on my mind before the game, such as how will the crowd respond, will they boo me. I just wasn’t sure what to expect. It was an emotional night.”

On his time with the Pacers:
“I enjoyed it here. This is a great organization. I want to thank guys like Larry (Bird), George Hill, Danny Granger for my experience here. I owe a lot to a guy like Paul George. He was a great motivator for me. He motivated me to be great, great like him. I have absolutely no hard feelings about the decisions that were made for me to go elsewhere.”
