Anthony Davis will not play in Wednesday’s home game against the Phoenix Suns. The All-Star forward’s status beyond tonight is to be determined.

About 90 minutes prior to tip-off, Pelicans Coach Monty Williams said Davis will be held out of the Western Conference matchup vs. Phoenix. The team has not decided yet if the 21-year-old will also sit out the regular season’s final four games, including two each against Oklahoma City and Houston.

Asked specifically if the Pelicans may shut down Davis the rest of the way, Williams said, “We don’t know yet.”

After recording 17 points and four rebounds off the bench at Portland on Sunday, two of Alexis Ajinca’s best games this season have come at Portland. On the road versus the Blazers, Ajinca has averaged 8.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. Ajinca’s 17 points were part of the Pelicans' bench outscoring the Blazers' bench in the contest by a margin of 49-14.
