What the Phoenix Suns had to say about 104-98 win over the Pelicans (11/5/13)

Suns Coach Jeff Hornacek
On the third quarter:

“We told the guys to stay aggressive, and I think the Pelicans defense picked it up a little bit. That got us out in the open a little bit and Gerald Green hit shots. Our bench guys did a fantastic job. The two Morris’ came off the bench and Ish Smith. Archie Goodwin gave us good minutes. A lot of credit goes to the bench tonight. They played awesome.”

On what stuck out in the fourth quarter:

“I thought Eric Bledsoe did a nice job on the pick and rolls. He was able to get by and get layups. That’s when it gets tough is in that fourth quarter and he got to the hoop which is big for us. He looked a little tired out there, but he gutted it out and still was able to create some things for us. ”

Suns Guard Gerald Green
On the third quarter:

“The thing was that we were moving the ball very well. I think in the first half we didn’t do a good job of getting back in transition. They (Pelicans) scored 17 transition points in the first half. So we just had to focus on getting back in transition, and focus on our half-court defense, which has been pretty good thus far this season that was going to be our best chance to win.”

Suns Forward Marcus Morris
On the third quarter:

“Everybody just stayed aggressive. That really all it was, a lot of energy. We just played hard.”

On him and his brother (Markieff) feeding off of each other:

“When the 1st unit needed a little bit of help we just come out there and try to back them up. Just play hard. That’s what it comes down to. Once we buy in to playing hard I think everything else comes along. ”
