Pelicans Coach Monty Williams
On the game flow:
“I thought it would be tough for us to get our emotions up for tonights game after last night, playing a back to back, beating a team like Dallas and having to play again against a team who plays hard every possession. I thought it was a business-like attitude the second half. The first half I feel like we kind of flowed, the ball movement was great I thought we had 16 assist the first half, we ended up with 20.”
On Tyreke Evans:
"I think it takes time to figure out where guys are, you know his ability to score and attake the basket is the respon why we got him. Now hes starting to play off of guys and maybe hes starting to understand how easy the game can be if you just AD, Ryan and the finishers and it opens up the game later on."
Pelicans forward Anthony Davis:
On being three games over .500 and having won four games in a row:
“It feels great. We knew, coming off a big win against Dallas and [playing] back-to-back, we knew we were at home and we were trying to get this win, four in a row. But we know this is not where we stop. We’ve got two tough teams coming up – Denver and the [Los Angeles] Clippers – and we’re going to try to get those two, as well.”
On why the team has been playing well as of late:
“We just don’t care who scores the ball. The ball movement was great. Everybody was rebounding and talking. When you play like that, it’s fun to watch. Everybody was out there having fun, smiling. A lot of emotion. That’s all we ask, that’s all coach asks for and that’s what we did tonight.”
On whether the Pelicans have what it takes to make a run for a playoff spot:
“For sure. We need to come out and do the things that we do every day. Every night, night in and night out, make sure that we go out there and defend, rebound, share the ball and play hard. That’s all we’ve got to do, and we can definitely get that spot.”
