Pelicans to host Warriors in games 3 and 4 at the Smoothie King Center

NEW ORLEANS (April 21, 2015) – The New Orleans Pelicans will host the Golden State Warriors at the Smoothie King Center this week in Games 3 and 4 of the first round of the 2015 NBA playoffs. Each game will feature some of the Crescent City’s favorite local artists, as well as fun for fans of all ages.

“We are really looking forward to our first Pelicans playoff games at the Smoothie King Center this week,” said Pelicans Owner Tom Benson. “The last home game against the Spurs was such a great atmosphere – we need our Pelicans fans to bring the same energy in Games 3 and 4. It’s going to be an exciting week and I can’t wait for game day.”

On Thursday, April 23, the Pelicans and Warriors will tip off at 8:30 p.m. at the Smoothie King Center, followed by a Game 4 match-up on Saturday, April 25 at 7 p.m. on the Pelicans’ home court. Doors will open 90 minutes before tip-off for each game. Limited tickets are available for both games at Pelicans.com, by calling 504.525.HOOP, at the Smoothie King Center box office and all TicketMaster outlets.

The Pelicans Shop by adidas has added limited edition 2015 Pelicans playoff apparel to its selection. Fans can purchase their gear at the Pelicans Shop by adidas located at the Smoothie King Center from Tuesday-Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The shop also is open before, during and after Pelicans games

Game 3 • Thursday, April 23 at 8:30 p.m. (Doors open at 7 p.m.)

Thursday’s Game 3 will feature a “Red Out” at the Smoothie King Center as every fan will receive a red 2015 Pelicans “Play On” playoff T-shirt courtesy of Chevron on their seat. The game will also include a halftime performance by Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue and Irma Thomas will perform the National Anthem. The Pelicans Senior Dance Team and the Pelicans Drumline will also perform at the game. 

Pelicans Fest will begin at 6:30 p.m. outside the Smoothie King Center on Dave Dixon Drive and will feature live music by MOJEAUX, as well as appearances by Pierre the Pelican and members of the Pelicans Dance Team. The pre-game party will also include sample-size smoothies from Smoothie King’s mobile unit, as well as a rock wall and rolling video games. Upon entry at the Northeast Ground doors, fans will be greeted with live music by DJ Raj Smoove. The concourse will include airbrush tattoos (section 120), life-size Connect 4 (117), Tic Tac Toe (117) and Jenga (102), as well as a face painter (124), art studio (124) and hair salon (123) where fans can get a Pelicans-style makeover. New Orleans’ iconic Gold Man Statue, as well as a magician will also be on the concourse level during the game.

Game 4 • Saturday, April 25 at 7 p.m. (Doors open at 5:30 p.m.)

Fans at Saturday’s game will be a part of the Pelicans’ “White Out” as each fan will receive a white 2015 Pelicans “Play On” playoff T-shirtcourtesy of A-Confidential Transportation on their seat, as well as a white Pelicans rally towel courtesy of Chevron at the door. The National Anthem will be performed by "America’s Got Talent’s" Megan Miller and halftime will feature a performance by the Chicago Boyz Acrobatic Team. The Pelikids and Pelicans Mini Drummers will also perform during the game. 

Pelicans Fest will begin at 5 p.m. outside the Smoothie King Center on Dave Dixon Drive and will feature live music by the Bucktown All-Stars, as well as appearances by Pierre the Pelican and members of the Pelicans Dance Team. The pre-game party will also include sample-size smoothies from Smoothie King’s mobile unit, as well as a dunk tank. The concourse will include life-size Connect 4 (117), Tic Tac Toe (117) and Jenga (102), as well as a face painter (124), art studio (124) and hair salon (123) where fans can get a Pelicans-style makeover. New Orleans’ iconic Mardi Gras Indians, as well as the Dancing Gold Statue, will be on the concourse during the game.
