PELICANS TO HOST 2013 TRAINING CAMP ATNEW, STATE-OF-THE-ART PRACTICE FACILITY

NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Pelicans will hold training camp prior to the start of the 2013 preseason at the team’s new practice facility, beginning Tuesday, Oct. 1 with practice sessions from 10:00 a.m.-noon and 5:00-7:00 p.m. The Pelicans’ annual media day activities will take place on Monday, Sept. 30 at the practice facility from 11:00-2:00 p.m.
The practice facility is located on Airline Drive as the team shares a campus with the New Orleans Saints. The 2013-14 season will mark the first time in the franchise history that the business and basketball operations are located on the same premises.
Head coach Monty Williams will hold practice twice daily on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (Oct. 1-3). The team will hold a single session on Friday (Oct. 4) from 10:00 a.m. to noon before departing for its first preseason match-up with the Houston Rockets on Saturday, Oct. 5.
Media members will have access to the final half-hour of each practice (approximately 11:30 a.m. for morning sessions and approximately 6:30 p.m. for evening practices). Media will be escorted by a member of the communications staff to the practice facility from the media work room. On the days there is only one practice, media will have access to the final half-hour of the session.
