Hornets Kids Camp Coming to Northshore
May 18, 2007
NEW ORLEANS The New Orleans Hornets and guard Devin Brown announced today the teams first basketball camp of the summer. Hornets Training Camp will provide five full days of basketball drills, skills challenges, team building and fun for children ages 7 to 14.
Im excited to host the first Hornets basketball camp of the summer, said Brown. The camp is sure to be a hit for all young athletes interested in improving their game and advancing their basketball skills and overall personal development.
Brown emerged as one of the teams most valuable players in 2006-07. After several Hornets stars were sidelined by injury, the 6-foot-5 shooting guard stepped into the starting lineup and went on to average career-highs in points (11.6), rebounds (4.3) and assists (2.6).
The training camp is scheduled for Monday, June 25 through Friday, June 29 at Pelican Park in Mandeville and is open to children with any level of basketball experience. All campers will be grouped according to age, gender and skill degree. In addition to being part of the first authentic NBA instructional training camp in the state of Louisiana, this summer campers will be given a Hornets Training Camp T-shirt, teal basketball, two tickets to a 2007-08 regular season Hornets home game, an extensive camper evaluation, and surprise visits from Hornets players throughout the week.
Hornets Training Camp has limited openings, and parents and season ticket holders are encouraged to register early. For more information, or to register today, visit hornets.com and click on the Hornets Training Camp icon or call (504) 458-9005.
