HORNETS WAIVE RASHARD LEWIS

The New Orleans Hornets announced today that the team has waived forward Rashard Lewis.

The Hornets acquired Lewis and the 46thoverall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft on June 20 from the Washington Wizards in exchange for forward Trevor Ariza and center Emeka Okafor.

Lewis (6-10, 230) holds career averages of 16.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists in 934 games (827 starts). Last season for the Wizards, he averaged 7.8 points and 3.9 rebounds in 28 games (15 starts).
