March 14, 2011
The New Orleans Hornets are voicing their whole-hearted commitment to New Orleans and asking fans to show their support as part of the teams new IM IN marketing campaign. Anchored by a badge that declares ones in-ness, the campaign includes television and radio commercials, billboards, newspaper and online ads that feature national and local celebrities like Saints quarterback Drew Brees and musician Kermit Ruffins pledging IM IN for New Orleans and the Hornets.
We were gathered here at the end of January to announce that the Hornets had reached their attendance benchmark, but that there was still work to be done to ensure their long-term success in New Orleans, said Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal. The business community and the fans continue to step up, but its essential for everyone to say: IM IN. We love the Hornets for what they do for and bring to our communities. Continue to support our team, purchase season tickets, pack the Hive and lets prove to the NBA world that Louisiana is in!
The marketing campaign features icons of the Crescent City alongside everyday fans, each bearing the message that living in New Orleans and being a Hornets fan is not an effort that can be done half-way. Well-known residents voicing their IM IN pledges also include Governor Bobby Jindal, Mayor Mitch Landrieu, James Carville, Archbishop Gregory Aymond, Jeremy Davenport and Arnold Young, the beloved usher from section 124.
We said from the beginning that the fans were going to prove that New Orleans is a basketball city, and our entire community is excited to be a part of the next phase with the Hornets by uniting together and saying: Im in, said New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu. While the city has shown tremendous support for the team, we want to continue to build upon that momentum and ensure that the Hornets remain New Orleans team for many years to come.
The Hornets are excited to have the support of the Governor, the Mayor and the many dignitaries, celebrities and fans who are participating in the IM IN campaign to show their support, said Hornets Chairman and NBA Governor Jac Sperling. The Hornets love New Orleans, and we know New Orleans loves the Hornets."
We are very honored that numerous familiar faces around New Orleans have been willing to show their support for our team by participating in this campaign, said Hornets President Hugh Weber. We are passionate about New Orleans, and we hope the rest of the city and state will join us as we all display our love for not only our team, but also for this great city and entire state of Louisiana through IM IN.
