May 25, 2012

The New Orleans Hornets will hold a Draft Lottery Party presented by Budweiser at Mannings Eat-Drink-Cheer (519 Fulton Street) on Wednesday, May 30, as the team will find out where it will pick in the upcoming NBA Draft. The party will begin at 6:00 p.m. as the Lottery coverage will begin on ESPN beginning at 6:30 p.m. CDT from Disney/ABCs Times Square Studios in New York City.

The party, hosted by Hornets Emcee Rob Nice, will feature interactive games, contests and appearances by Hugo and the Honeybees. Featured drink specials will include $2 Budweiser and Bud Light bottles. At approximately 6:55 p.m., the unveiling of picks #1 through #14 will begin during the live broadcast from New York City.

The Mannings courtyard will feature Hornets inflatables, as well as an Enter-to-Win contest for fans in attendance. Also during the party, Hornets Radio Color Analyst Gerry Vaillancourt will host an extended edition of Sports Buzz live from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on The Ticket WMTI/106.1 FM.

Headed into the Lottery, the Hornets hold both their own selection (slotted fourth) and the Timberwolves selection (slotted tenth, acquired from the Los Angeles Clippers on Dec. 14, 2011). With the combined chances of the two picks, New Orleans has a 14.8% chance (148 of 1,000 possibilities) at landing the first selection, a 15.46% chance at drafting second and a 16.04% chance at third.
