Twelve partners agree to extensions

February 4, 2011

The New Orleans Hornets, who last week achieved a ticket benchmark assuring their ongoing presence in the New Orleans Arena, announced that 12 of their current Corporate Partners have agreed to extend their partnerships for additional multi-year terms.

We are grateful to have the support of the New Orleans corporate community, especially at such a crucial moment in our tenure here, said Hornets President Hugh Weber. This incredible statement by our corporate partners is another step on the path toward ensuring the long-term viability of our franchise here in the Crescent City.

Over the past two months, the Hornets Corporate Partnerships team has held a series of meetings with current clients, conducting reviews of their agreements and working together to re-structure those deals to increase the market activation and the term. The response has been overwhelming.

The following have committed to extend their partnerships with the Hornets: Audubon Nature Institute, Capital One Bank, Chevron, Entergy, Hub International, The Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board, New Orleans Marriott, Morris Bart, Ochsner Health System, Peoples Health, Take 5 Oil Change and Zatarains.

This past week is another positive step toward demonstrating that the city of New Orleans and the corporate community are committed to providing the support required to keep the Hornets here in this great city, said Hornets Chairman and NBA Governor Jac Sperling. We are proud to be in a market where the passion for our NBA franchise is so high. We will continue to find ways to provide value to our corporate partners with strong business practices and to provide great family entertainment to our fans.

Operating in the smallest market in the NBA, the Hornets have grown their corporate base over 50 percent throughout the past three seasons. They rank among the league leaders in a number of sales categories, and todays announcement will help solidify the foundation of corporate partnerships for the foreseeable future.
