Five things to know about the Pelicans on Jan. 5, 2017

1)      New Orleans (14-22) gets back in action tonight, hosting Atlanta at 7 p.m. in the Smoothie King Center. Tickets are available here

2)      The Pelicans will hold shootaround this morning in Metairie. Check Pelicans.com later for coverage. The Hawks are not shooting around, because they played last night at Orlando.

3)      New Orleans welcomed a new player, Donatas Motiejunas, to the team. Motiejunas met with local media Wednesday after his first practice. Former Houston teammate Terrence Jones also spoke to reporters, as did Anthony Davis and Alvin Gentry.

4)      The Pelicans released an update on Quincy Pondexter, who underwent left knee surgery.
