August 15, 2011

The New Orleans Hornets announced today that one of the citys most prominent businesses, Entergy Corporation, has demonstrated its commitment to the organization and reached the highest partnership status as Crescent City Champion. Entergy joins existing Crescent City Champions Cox Communications, 7-Up and Ochsner Health System, each of whom activates their partnership through every aspect of the Hornets sponsorship asset mix.

Building strong corporate support for the Hornets in New Orleans is fundamental to our mission to keep the team in this great city, and to ultimately find local ownership to ensure the long-term stability of this franchise, said Hornets President Hugh Weber. Were grateful to have partners like Entergy and our other Crescent City Champions to establish the foundation required to make this happen."

The announcement comes in the midst of the Hornets Im In, Are You? 100 Events in 100 Days initiative as the organization looks to reach 10,000 season tickets.

We are thrilled to add Entergy to our strong base of Crescent City Champions, said Tom Ward, Hornets Senior VP of Corporate Partnerships. Entergy has been a great partner of the Hornets, and we appreciate that they have stepped up to support us and to demonstrate that they are, indeed, in."

Entergy has been a partner of the Hornets since the team arrived in New Orleans in 2002. As a new Crescent City Champion, Entergy has taken on the presenting role for Planet Rebound, the Hornets green initiative that focuses on wetlands conservation, renewable energy and community beautification.

Rod West, Chief Administrative Officer of Entergy, said, We recognize the importance of the Hornets to our region and have valued our partnership with them from the beginning. We are particularly pleased to connect with the team through their grassroots interactive community program, Planet Rebound. The Hornets shine a tremendous spotlight on the city of New Orleans, and were excited to partner with them and focus that spotlight on these extremely worthwhile causes."
