Our weekly look at where the Hornets rank in each of the national media power polls. Comments are provided by the respective websites:
NBA.com (8th, same as previous week):
"The Hornets are probably the most inconsistent offensive team in the top 10, as Monday's loss in Portland and wins over the Sonics and T-Wolves on Wednesday and Saturday displayed."
SI.com (8th, up 1 spot):
"Chris Paul is playing like an MVP candidate. Tyson Chandler continues to rack up double-doubles and Peja Stojakovic is back in the lineup. It's all looking good these days for this club, except of course for home attendance."
ESPN.com ((9th, down 3 spots):
Just in time for the holidays, New Orleans has won five of six at home after its 3-4 start, backing up Chandler's Weekend Dime claim that ''there's no reason why we shouldn't be a top-five team'' out West.
Dime Magazine (10th, up 3 spots):
"Back-to-back 15-assist games last week pushed Chris Paul’s season averages to 20.9 points, 10 assists and 2.8 steals per game. The last person to average 20-10-3 in a season? NO ONE. (Isiah Thomas topped 20, 10 and 2.5 in ‘83-84.)."
