After spending 15 years in the NBA as either a player or assistant coach, Monty Williams gets his first chance to be a head coach in 2010-11, as the sideline leader of the New Orleans Hornets. Williams, who co-authored the scriptural book “Look again 52,” sat down with Hornets.com recently to answer a few questions about his background.
Best moment in basketball: “Winning an NBA title in 2005 (as a member of the coaching staff for the San Antonio Spurs).”
One surprising fact about me: “I love riding my motorcycle.”
Favorite aspect of Louisiana: “The fishing down here is unreal.”
My first job: “I did landscaping with my grandfather.”
If I weren’t working in basketball, I’d… “Probably be working in the ministry at my church in Oregon.”
Favorite type of music: “Gospel.”
Favorite TV show: “I love American Chopper.”
Favorite movie of all time: “(The 1989 film) Glory (starring Denzel Washington, Matthew Broderick and Morgan Freeman).”
